It's my sad duty to inform you all of the untimely loss of one of Dings Rugby`s true stalwarts, Albert sadly lost his battle with illness last Saturday the 2nd of June 2018.

Dings Rugby have lost one of our oldest members.

For some 62 years, Bert was a member, player, committee member, bar Steward, local rugby referee and a genuinely nice chap who took an interest in all things Dings. He was a keen supporter until too ill to attend and also supported all things connected with Dings Rugby Club. Bert would also visit other rugby clubs when on his way home after officiating a senior or junior game.

Dings Rugby Club have lost a true stalwart and supporter and we would like to offer our support to Jenny, Richard and Caroline who I know grew up in the shadows of Dings as well as to his grandchildren who I know will be morning their sad loss.

Bert's funeral will take place on Tuesday 19th June at 1.00pm at Hanham Methodist Church, then onto Westerleigh Crematorium for a 2.45pm service. The family would like to invite family and friends back to Shaftesbury Park, Dings new home in Frenchay, Bristol to celebrate Albert`s Life.
