I write to inform all members past & present of the ending of Ray Bowdens tenure as President of Dings Crusaders RFC. Some 13 years have passed since Ray became President and in that time Ray has steered the club through all of the rocky road and issues that we encountered during the move to Shaftesbury Park.
Ray joined the club around 1962 and through the sixties played over 100 games for the Ist XV whilst training to be an architect. In total Ray played 349 games for the Club, and although he will be peeved, it could have been more apart from a couple of appearances for Bristol Rugby Club. Ray also appeared for Clifton Rugby, for one season, a decision he made whilst suffering from a clash of heads in a game.
Ray will continue to be involved with the club and as always will be the go to person when required to extract more knowledge.
All who have worked with both professionally and cub wise will applaud Rays commitment to the club, we wish him well in retirement from the role.

And so a new President has been agreed on and its my utmost pleasure to announce that Phil Knowles has agreed to become the new President of the Club, and I can think of no one better to take over the mantle left behind by Rays departure.
Phil also joined the club in 1964, playing through 5 Decades playing his last game in 2000, a fervent supporter of the club and all things Dings related I am sure that Phil will now bring his own unique stamp & style to such an elevated role. I am sure all will congratulate Phil on his latest role and he will be pleased to recount to you all of the best moments.
