DINGS Crusaders make three changes to the starting line-up that beat Guernsey 38-12 at Shaftesbury Park a week ago for the next instalment of National League Two South rugby against Taunton Titans. Hooker Will Capon and lock Shek Sheriff come back into the side after missing last weeks bonus-point victory over the Raiders because of England Under-20s duties and work commitments, respectively, while prop James Hall switches places with Josh Lloyd, who now moves to the bench.
The selectors keep faith with the entire back-line and their replacements, and director of rugby Stean Williams his hoping that his team can again rise to the challenge and make it three wins in a row.
He said: “Make no mistake, Taunton are a very good side. They’ve had a little wobble recently, but they had a great win last week against Old Reds and they’ll be looking to do the same to us. We can’t afford a poor start against Taunton like we had last week against Guernsey. Taunton are a side that can quickly get away from you, and, before you know it, you’re chasing the game.
“But we’ve shown we can mix it with the established sides in this division, and we’re hard to beat when we’re on our game. That’s the challenge now for the boys – being able to perform at a certain standard every week, no matter who we’re playing.
“We’ve shuffled the team around this week, and the boys know it’s has to be a squad effort. Everybody understandably wants to be in the starting XV, but the lads are well aware that to beat the Titans, we’ll need everyone pulling together from one-to-20, and plenty of vocal support from our home crowd as well.”
