Dings Knights 33
Clifton Wanderers 26
DINGS Knights booked their place in the Bristol & District Combination Vase final after a hard-fought victory over their Clifton counterparts at Shaftesbury Park. The Knights will face Somerset Premier out-fit Yatton in the final on Wednesday, April 27 at Lockleaze Sports Centre.
Dings led 12-5 at half-time thanks to tries from Simon Tsangari and Tommy Gollop, plus a conversion from fly-half Archie Stapleton. The Knights really picked up the pace early in the second-half, forging a commanding 26-5 lead with further converted tries from Sam Slade and Anton Welling. Clifton's Alex Kilbane scored tries either side of Waylon Gasson's try to make it 33-19. Wanderers finished strongly and a converted try from Tom Jones made for a tense final few minutes. But the Knights held on to record their first victory over a Clifton side at Shaftesbury Park.
