Match Report - Dings V Stourbridge:

Baz Johnson5 Mar 2023 - 22:31

Anderson almost everywhere as Dings Triumph

Despite Stourbridge being a big side, and showing great forward movement through Mark George, Matt Moseley and Dan Rundle, their inability to retain the ball resulted in
one way traffic from Dings for the best part of the encounter.
Tom Anderson, majestic all match, carried and passed to Tom Knight delivering a perfect 50-22 from the off.
The following Lineout drive took Chris Rovery over to start the scoreboard ticking 3 minutes in.
TJ Wilstead was mostly metronomic, securing a further 2.
More Dings pressure from the kick off with Anderson carrying again, through Matty Smith at pace, feeding Sol Taufa for his first of his two tries.

Stourbridge had brief possession in the Dings 5m, but from an error, Knight clears to a knock-on advantage, Smith capitalised through to Matt Jones, to Taufa for his second.
Matt Jones impressed all match, exploiting a gap, finding Harry Casson whose inventive pass through hands to Anderson put him under the sticks at 19 minutes.

The tables looked to turn as Stourbridge literally “linked up” to put Hayden Link in the corner unconverted, before the Dings backs impressed with their handling, giving Charlie Taylor his try ending the half 35-5

The second half was a slow burner, and injury-laden as Stourbridge couldn’t seem to fire, as the impressive Casson taking charge of the mauls which began to wear down the visitors.
From the back, impact scrum half Archie Stapleton, to Smith dotting down, and again to Jones scoring at 55 minutes.
Donaghue with Dings eighth try before replacement Stourbridge prop Jack Lea crossed after a period of forwards pressure for a try (Con.Rickie Aley) finishing the match 52-12
