Dings Crusaders produced a rampant second-half performance to overcome a first-period deficit and continue their healthy lead by beating Newport (Salop).

Crusaders showcased the stuff of champions as they rallied together and overcame an 8-5 disadvantage that initially started with Conor Adams hitting a penalty.

Crusaders originally snapped back with Matthew Lane getting his first of the game, but with two minutes left before the interval Jack Dawson put Salop ahead again.

That was the final bit of joy that the home side would feel as the Crusaders gained control, with Lane again putting his side in the ascendancy three minutes after the break.

Six minutes later, the away side scored two tries in a minute as Charles Taylor and James Halliwell both profited to secure the bonus-point victory.

George Boulton and Tom Gollop continued to show their class and dampened Newport's mood even more, and after Charlie Gamble went in the sin-bin, Crusaders' score grew.

Halliwell got got his second and Worsley kicked his fifth and final conversion, but George Castledine did dent their points difference a little bit with a try two minutes from time, but their sorry season continues as they remain second bottom in the National League 2 West.
