We mark the passing of Dave White

Dave ` Daisy ` White

It is my sad duty to inform all members past and present of the sad and untimely passing of the much-loved Dave White.

Daves past is firmly entrenched in the clubs early history within the area of Lockleaze, with his father, a Club stalwart during the 60`s & 70`s and his mother, the head cook at Lockleaze Comprehensive School, and with Dave recorded as being an important part of
one of the only Junior Schools at the time (1955) to play Rugby in a Junior School.

A tenacious Scrumhalf he played in first recorded game in 1962 and completed his playing career in 2002, over a 40 year period amassing 604 club games and I’m sure he played numerous games for others, if there was no game to be had at the Club he supported
all his Life.

Dave, in his later years, was an avid supporter, and it was not unusual to see him at most, if not all of the away games in and around the London Area, when the
Club first entered the National leagues with, I believe, one of his last trips to Esher Rugby only some 3 seasons ago.

A much-loved Character around the club and a good club member, Dave’s presence and conversation pieces will be sadly missed by all that played with him
and knew him.

The past couple of years saw Dave fall into ill health, but all did pray that he would reappear down at his beloved club, but it was not to be, and Dave passed away with his family around him.

The Club extend their condolences and best wishes to all of Daves Family at this extremely sad time.

Dave’s funeral will be at Westerleigh Crematorium in the Waterside Chapel at 2pm on Wednesday 10th July, then after at Shaftesbury Park from 3pm.
