It is my very sad duty to inform all members of the sad and untimely passing of an old Player and Great Friend of the club
Larger than life character, Bob Dawe, sadly passed away on Tuesday 27th May 2025
Bob joined Dings Crusaders in 1981 and played until 1991 in some 130 games for the club he grew to love. Bob was a serving Police Officer when he joined us, and became a friend to many of the existing club members, whatever side of the road they came from. His larger than life persona was soon very evident and he wasn’t a bad player either, at around a striking height of 6.8 ft in his heyday, he was a sight to behold when he got the legs moving.
Bob unfortunately had been suffering ill health for a number of years lately, but he continued to fight and not succumb to his ailments.
A frequent visit on match days as well as at meal times, Bob continued to grace and support the club he grew very fond of.
The Club wish to Offer sincere condolences to his wife Dawn and family members at this extremely sad time.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Wednesday 2nd July 12.15 The Waterside Chapel, Westerleigh Crematorium then afterwards back to the club. No donations but floral tributes welcome to be sent C/O Thomas Davis Funeral Directors, Southville Lodge BS31DJ.
