LEICESTER Lions staged a stirring second-half comeback

LEICESTER Lions staged a stirring second-half comeback as they edged out hosts Dings Crusaders, sealing victory with a penalty five minutes from time.
The league leaders trailed 24-7 at half-time, despite taking a 12th-minute lead, Alexander Wilcockson crossing the line after his side had been held up twice in the opening stages.

Fog descended as Dings won a penaltv from another dominant scrum, followed by a driving maul for Anton Welling to score their first try.

A mistake by Lions led to a Dings scrum and, after 11 phases of play, George Kloska powered through to create a try for Harry Tovey.

More pressure in the Lions 22 led to a try for Matty Smith after Tom Knight's
ducking and diving in the build-up.
Rounding off the half, an error from Lions led to another dominant run by Kloska, who dotted down in the corner. Ciaran Donoghue's conversion attempt hit the posts.

The second half started in thick fog and a flurry of infringements from Dings, in open play and at the scrum, saw Lions' Daniel Martin dot down after 50 minutes.

A further scrum penalty gave Lions a 22-metre line-out, generating a score for Devon Constant after 55 minutes.

Ten minuths later, a ruck penalty was slotted home by Lions' Ben Young.
Knight was sent to the sin-bin in the 74th minute for a deliberate knock-on and
Young kicked the match-winning penalty.

DIINGS Knights secured the win over Bream RFC at Shaftesbury Park 38 points to 24

Sadly, Dings Under 14s only managed 1 try in the Bristol Junior Combination Cup Semi Final against Oldfield RFC, who took 25 points away from home. We wish them luck in the final.

Dings Colts nilled local rivals Clifton 17 - 0, Jacob Fuller taking the helmet for Player of the match.

Dings Under 18 Girls find themselves in the 1/4 finals of the National Cup after beating Sidmouth RFC on the road 33 points to their 10.

And the final fixture of the day see Dings Women still unbeaten beating Melksham RFC by an eye watering 85 points to 5 at the close.
