Tuesday Nuesday 29th April

Baz Johnson29 Apr - 17:21

With limited rugby being played this weekend, there was no team of the week this week, but we have some great news from the frontline.

Todays Tuesday Nuesday.

Our U14 boys, who were struggling at the start of the season for numbers, have come back stronger than ever, with a fantastic result at Old Reds festival, taking second overall.

The U16 boys maintained their fantastic record at Monmouth festival, also gaining a silver medal place in a tough festival, with strong Welsh opponents. Well done to them too.

It's common knowledge now that the Knights, coached and managed by the aptly named Simon Knight, and the charismatic Greg Welling, are promoted for next season. We look forward to finding out what the restructured league will look like.

From Saturday, despite the defeat to a heavy Birmingham side, there were some stand out performances from our boys, but most notably amongst the crowd at the Park, it was a unanimous call for Captain George Boulton (sponsored by Release Pilates) who took the player of the match award from Thatchers and 6 O'Clock Gin

The Reverend Canon Trevor Denley, also known as The Oracle, awarded his accolade for Player of the season. The Rev decided that Will Thompson (Sponsored by Buro Happold) was the outstanding Oracle Man this year.

The Summer Ball still has some tickets available.

Don't miss out!

Now onto this, the final week of Rugby for Dings this season.

A huge day for our U16 Girls on Sunday 4th May as they head to Sixways Stadium, home of the now Championship side Worcester Warriors, where they will take the final step in the National Cup in a bid to win some silverware.
Kick off is at 1030. Please pop up if you can. They would love your support as the face Sandal Rugby.

Our minis have a visit from both Avonmouth and Southmead, and will no doubt sink a few Fruit Shoots post match to end the season in style.

News will be more sporadic now, so until next season. Up the Dings!
Yours in Rugby
Baz
