First home game of the season and Longlevens were the visitors, we knew it was going to be a tough game to win and we were not wrong. The first half was quite an even contest with both packs working hard to win ball, Our visitors seemed to play through one very capable center and he was indeed the difference between two very evenly matched teams. Longlevens first try came on 7 mins and a conversion followed, good pressing and defence by both teams kept the game exciting and our visitors got another converted try in the 16th minute. We kept applying pressure and that paid off in the 20th minute when Mitch Bullock picked up from the scrum and went over for our first of the day, the resulting conversion was missed. Half time 05-14
The second half started with our changes made and the players settling in to the game, we got hit on the break and Longlevens stormed over for a non converted try. Our forwards were still making a good show of things and were winning a lot of the breakdowns, we have some work to do on defence and this showed on 38 minutes when the away side barreled through us for their fourth of the day, a conversion followed. We kept plugging away and that paid off when Luke Rowe ran 3/4 of the pitch to score our second unconverted try. With the game coming to a close we conceded another late try which was again not converted Final Score 10-31.
