Reading Abbey are this Sundays opponents who sit at 5th in the table with 2 games in hand over the season so far.
It's fair to say that the Mavericks haven't had the best season, and the likelihood of staying up is very low.
Speaking with Head Coach Tom Lindsay at the weekend, we discussed the team and the future. He said "This is a great team. They are a strong bunch and I know they can do great things. There have been many changes to the team since I took over this season, and we are starting to gel as a team, despite some of our players only picking up the game for the first time this season. If we do fall out of Champ 2, then I know that we will have the time and energy to build into a more competitive side and challenge again.
There is a huge step between where we were and where we are now, and with so many changes to the team, it was inevitable as we were victims of our own success. I'm excited to see how we progress."
The Mavericks kick off at 3pm on Sunday at Shaftesbury Park. It's the first time of meeting for the 2 teams, and so far the visitors have had mixed results this season.
We're all behind you, and we hope to see the home side of the scoreboard ticking over this weekend.
Come on you Dings girls!!
